“ COMMITTED TO SERVING & PROTECTING THE CITIZENS OF NEW BOSTON OHIO” |
|
NBPD’s main charity function we do is the annual Christmas toy and clothing drive for children. Starting in November of each year, NBPD collects donations of money from businesses and citizens and donations of new toys and clothing for the area children. Anyone interested in helping can contact the police department starting in October to make arrangements.
Citizens needing help at this time of year can come into the police department starting October 1st, and pick up a information application and turn it back into the police department and your children will receive toys and clothing for Christmas. There is a limited time frame, three weeks, so sign up early . |

Every year NBPD participates in safety programs by having NBPD’s own Safety Pup and Cowboy Bob who is sponsored from the National Child Safety Council, go to Oak and Stanton Elementary Schools for drug awareness and safety talks. Area business donate money each year to the Safety Pup program where candy and safety materials can be handed out to school children. This program has been very successful for NBPD and it is now in its 8th year. |

This year, 2010, NBPD will be helping over nine hundred kids this Christmas by giving out presents. On December 22nd, NBPD Santa will be delivering all these gifts with a police escort. This program has grown from helping around 50 kids eight years ago to over nine hundred in 2010. There is a lot of businesses who have donated money to the program and the local Portsmouth motorcycle riding club in the area has helped by collecting money at several intersections throughout the Village in November, and without all of the businesses and this club this program would not have been able to help all these kids this year. NBPD thanks all citizens who have helped make this a great community program and event. |
