Recently the New Boston police Department received a donated Battering Ram from the members of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #577 located in Portsmouth, Ohio. The ram was fabricated and constructed by the apprenticeship trainees who are training to become Pipefitters and Welders. The trainees are led by Local #577 Business Agent Bobby Cole and Local #577 Apprenticeship Training Coordinator Kenny Bailey. The project was managed by Local #577 Apprenticeship Instructor Al Winters. The New Boston Police Department would like to thank the members of Local #577 and commend them for their hard work and skills. Although unplanned the delivery time of this Battering Ram couldn't have been better. This week is National Police Week and May 15th is Peace Officers Memorial Day. Pictured in the photo from left to right is, retired #577 Member, Village of New Boston Mayor Junior Williams, Kenny Bailey, Captain Robert Deerfield, Bobby Cole and Chief Steven Goins. Unfortunately Al Winters was out of town for business and was unable to participate in the photo.
