NBPD’s main charity function we do is the annual Christmas toy and clothing drive for children. Starting in November of each year, Portsmouth Motorcycle Club collects donations of money from businesses and citizens and then turns the money over to the Village where Village volunteers will go out and purchase toys and clothes for the children. Also anyone interested in donating toys or money can contact the Police Department or Mayor's Office and arrangements can be made to receive them.
Any residents needing help at this time of year can come into the Police Department or Mayor's Office starting around October 15th, and pick up a information application and turn it back into the Police Department or Mayor's Office and your children will receive toys and clothing for Christmas. There is a limited time frame, three weeks, so sign up early.
Every year NBPD participates in safety programs by having NBPD’s own Safety Pup and Magic Show which is sponsored by the National Child Safety Council go to the New Boston Schools for drug awareness and safety talks. Area businesses donate money each year to the Safety Pup program where candy and safety materials can be handed out to school children. This program has been very successful for NBPD.
